Hello Reading Teachers
Are we doing something special to motivate our students to read for themselves and to their children?
For 12 years now, NEA The National Education Association annually sponsors Read Across America. Let's log in to: http://www.nea.org/ to get some help and use some of their resources that they're suggesting we can; my choice is the certificate for the adult who will read to a child.

PS to National Reading Day-
We're snowed out and we have extra time to devote to reading.

ReplyDeleteI think that you are right about encouraging parents to read to their children. It will serve a dual purpose. The parent has an opportunity to practice their reading and comprehension skills, while also developing an appreciation for reading in their children. The child will understand and acquire new vocabulary early in their education if parents can make reading a fun and interactive activity. Reading benefits all people involved. Why not involve the whole family!
