GED GRADUATION 2009 It is time once again for HANAC to recognize its GED recipients. Our graduation ceremony will be held on April 3, 2009 at the Harlem State Building. This event is one of the highlights of our program. It honors both the students and the teachers who have worked towards this great accomplishment. However, this is just the first step, it should not stop here, we encourage our students to look Beyond the GED to find a training or program that will give students the opportunity to find good paying jobs with benefits and the potential to grow. HANAC can help you explore those opportunities once you have secured the GED. Look for pictures of the graduation next month-hopefully some of you will be in our graduation.
My eyes are closed, my heart is open, my soul once was a slave now it’s FREE, Thankful because the lord never gave up on me. In my BED is where I lay, hoping my eyes would open just 2 see another day. Some have the best, many have less. Some teased me because I have EBT, but I smile because I know it’s only a Testimony.

“My Girls”
Well, My Girls, I’ll tell you It’s been hard on Mommie And Mommie loves you all And wish you are well And as old as I am I am still crawling To reach my highest goal But all the time I’ve been raising My Girls all alone And seeing Them grow up And My Girls turn out to be just fine And sometimes I get angrey, upset and worry So My Girls, don’t you Fret mumm’s here Don’t you be scared the lords here ‘Cause you find it’s kind of hard. Be seen be heard now- For I’m still your Mom I’m still behind you in what ever you wants out of life

Ode to Guava
Many trees in the yard,
yellow, green, and light brown
are the colors of my spring.
A lot of seeds inside: pink and white
with taste of sugar and sour together
sends me back to the early years of my life;
playing, eating like a monkey on the tree,
or studying and simply seeing the city from my palace.
Nobody finds me but I can see them
Walking, talking or going to work
And doing everything from my Guava Kingdom!!!! FiorD'Aliza Vancamper LHR
